Sure Signs You Are Homesick

1) The screen saver on your computer is a photo of your hometown.
2) The homepage is your local newspaper.
3) When you speak with your family any mention of the weather (regardless of what it is) makes you wistful. "Foggy? Really...awww."
4) You spend $25 for a pandoro (Italian cake).
5) You get defensive about incorrect portrayals of your city on film.
6) You check airplane fares on line.
7) Skyping is not enough.
8) You dream about the apricot filled croissants you eat at your favorite cafe (see photo above).

1) Lady Cora would be wearing Prada.
2) Matthew Crawley would be driving a Ferrari.
3) The air con bills would be outrageous.
4) The kitchen would have a nespresso machine.
5) Lady Edith would have her hair rebonded.
6) Anna and Mr. Bates would apply for an HDB flat.
7) There would be chili crab for dinner.
8) The maids would have handphones.
9) There would be no durian allowed upstairs.
10) Lord Grantham would like the favorable taxes.

Sure Signs You Are in a Taxi in Singapore

"You talkin' to me?"

1) Driver turns without signaling.
2) Kids call the driver uncle.
3) Driver expects you to tell him how to get where you want to go.
4) You're feeling lucky. Two previous taxis refused to pick you up after they heard your destination shaking their head vigorously 'no' they drove off...leaving you feeling only slightly less rejected than a middle grader looking for a seat at the canteen on his first day of school.
5) You're feeling really lucky...it's raining. And no, it's not an impression, there really are less taxis around.

"Pick me, pick me."

1) It's colder than the average Starbucks.
2) They sell green tea chai latte.
3) The staff speaks Malay.
4) When purchasing a venti size beverage you are rewarded with Lunar New Year red packets.
5) The teddy bear on sale has a snake on its shoulders to celebrate the year of the snake.
